No Pictures

Some couples want their guests to just focus on the moment and have all the photos taken by a photographer.  If that is what you desire, make it known to your guests by having a sign before they walk in.  Then there will be no competition of the hired photographer.  This will be helpful for a  nervous bride or groom that doesn’t want to be thinking about paparazzi!

No Phones

If you really don’t want phones present at your special day, make it known.   You can request that everyone either leave their phones in the car or set them aside for the night.  Another option is to ask if they would silence and hid their phones for the evening, as if they were seeing a movie at the movie theater.  If your wish is to be respected asking nicely and being flexible is the best policy.  If people want to put their phones in a basket so they won’t be tempted great.   But if they want to keep them tucked away in their purse or pocket that works too!
